Anniversary

Tomorrow marks the first anniversary of this blog. I remember spending the majority of a Friday evening last year after classes getting this site up: replacing "drew's den" with something more minimal and easier to update. I think this site has served me well, though perhaps not striking the spark I had hoped for. But I guess given the format, it can only be my entries to blame.

So I ask, what would you, reader, like to see here? Send me some feedback if you would, and give me some direction for the next year!

My second week of work is coming to close, and I'm looking forward to the weekend. I spent last weekend back in the 'shwa, which was good. Hung out w/ the fam, visited my aunt and uncle, and saw Rich et. al. Drove home eatin' some yummy cookies courtesy of Janese (sp?). This weekend dEb's having a house-warming party, but other than that, nothing's planned. Maybe I should have a house-warming party? Nah.

Although it may seem like it, I'm not neglecting my site since moving to Ottawa, even though I have yet to come through w/ the 'resolutions' set out last entry. Things have been pretty hectic since relocating and I haven't made the time to sit down and write something half decent.

In a nutshell, I'm about two-thirds settled into my new place, and so far, work seems interesting. More in the next few days.

Well, I think this blog thing is getting kind of boring. That doesn't mean I want to stop doing it, but I need to jive things up a bit, and I'm not talking about simply changing the layout again. Once in Ottawa, I hope to make this place more interesting, and more . . . comprehensive; yeah, that's it. I can cronicle what's going on, but I also want to get back into posting my opinions and random musings. I've been pretty hesitant to do this for the last little while for fear of sounding like an ignorant, pretentious, know-it-all, as many other on-line rantings come across to me.

It's September already! It's hard to believe that kids have headed back to school. I have to say that it feels really good not to have a schedule this fall. Though that doesn't mean things won't be busy or new: I'll be starting my new job soon, and that's going to take some getting used to after having had the last four months off.
