Managed to figure out how to get my blogger page up and running again :)

There's a bunch of older entries from the first half of the month, so make sure to catch up on your reading!

Enjoy!

A few weeks ago, there was a fundraiser for the social forum at Babylon w/ local bands and an art auction. dEb and I donated some pieces: dEb sold three of her ducky paintings, and I sold a print. It was a fun night! I'll update my prints page in the next few days w/ some pics.

Saw DJ Vadim a while back, which wasn't bad, but not as exciting as I'd imagined.

Went home for a quiet Easter weekend.

I've also started some new paintings . . . finally. Don't know what I'm gonna do about future shows/venues, though. Feeling a lack of direction in that department, so we'll see. Also started another little project, details to come later.

I never would have guessed that the black market for airbags could be so profitable.

Business card art: US$100. Wow.

Mr. Quintron made the Drum Buddy. very neat! I am inspired!

Here's a great way to transform your living space into a public gallery: The Balcony provides artists a space to exhibit site-specific works very publically.

And this!? Well, you decide (I think it's stupid).

Fake, but funny; some blogs are this boring, though, dontcha think? ;)

/Vacation

Back in Canada after a couple lovely, sunny days in California. Had a great time meeting dEb's extended family and exploring the area. Did some touring by car and by bike.

dEb's uncle took some pics, which you can view here.

Got back on Tuesday night, and yesterday I had an "introvert's vacation" by taking the day off and easing back into my surroundings.

I've returned w/ renewed energy which I hope sustains . . .

Hilarious! (check it before it's gone)

Just finished reading George Orwell's Keep the Aspidistra Flying; it's a pretty depressing book about a stubborn fellow who wages war on the "money-code" and the class system that inevitably precipitates therefrom. There's an on-line version here. This quote, toward the end of the book, really stuck out at me:
Everyone rebels against the money-code, and everyone sooner or later surrenders.
