Saw some great art on the weekend: Michele Provost's sampler at Karsh Masson, amazingly intricate needlepoint scenes of modern times; and James Prior's James Pierre and Pom Pom: Two Hearts Beat as One at Gallery101, large, sad, funny photographs of a lonely man and his cat.

Celebrated Matt S's bday at 426 Lounge in Gatineau, and dropped by Jaz's housewarming party as well.

Sunday was dedicated to the couch.

Fun weekend. Maria Lezon's opening @ Invisible Cinema on Friday night; met up w/ old CSS alumni Brad and Misty. Snowshoeing on Saturday, and Art's Birthday at Mercury Lounge in the evening. Sunday was errand day: we checked out the new mega Loblaws in Westboro since it was closer than Walmart, and used the mega cart to haul our mega groceries about ten blocks into the heart of the trendy Westboro area, then left the cart behind. We'll see how happy Westboro residents are w/ their new mega Loblaws once the carts start popping up all over the place. Did a bit of art on Sunday, too.

You know it was a good art opening when you have to plan a trip back b/c you missed the actual art the first time around . . . but seriously, I was way too busy helping out w/ refreshments! More openings this weekend, too!

French Club last night was great! If you haven't been already, you gotta come! Next meeting will be Wednesday 28 January, and I do believe we'll be hitting Le Bop for some free pizza!

I wanna work on some art real soon -- but if I don't, I'll regret writing this, b/c I hate writing about things that might happen as opposed to things that are real! Don't you think the world is already fake enough!?

So, is anyone out there? Is this thing even worth maintaining? Perhaps blogging in 2004 is just a waste of time? I have three choices: 1) continue to blog a few times a week as I have been, simply pointing to half interesting links and providing half interesting details about my day to day happenings; 2) blog less, or just stop; 3) blog more, maybe even every day, maybe even w/ better content if I can muster it.

Saw "Punch Drunk Love" last night. I found it weird and intense; I like movies that are weird and intense in a non-action/violence sorta way . . . well, there was some violence, yes, but not in the typical car chase blow 'em up kinda way.

Since I've been tracking the evolution of this, here's the latest one:

January is always a wakeup call . . . Rudely awakened by an alarm, two days in a row. I miss the holidays already. Xmas was good: spent some time in the 'shwa w/ the fam, and got together w/ the usual crew of friends, and a few others. Spent NYE and the week prior in Calgary, visiting dEb and her family; we also fit in some snowboarding in the rockies! My birthday passed w/ a fun impromptu party, and I'll be heading down to the 'shwa sometime soon to have a bday dinner w/ my fam.

I also saw "The Girl w/ the Pearl Earring" which I didn't think was that great, although there was a good line, spoken in relation to paintings: "they're just pictures. Pictures for money. They mean nothing."
