While it is improving, downtown Detroit is still not somewhere most people go to shop, eat, walk around, etcetera. If you're downtown to go out, you most likely came downtown specifically for that event. People understand this and that gives a sense of urgency to most nights. All the extra fluff you may have to deal with in other cities has been boiled away, because there isn't time or money for it in Detroit. I think that attitude is ingrained in our music and in our many talented DJs.
