The original "Electric Window" fixture was born in December 2007 for Gallery 101's annual art auction, 101 Frames.
The original: "electric window (i)," Dec. 2007
The initial piece consisted of two small bundles of electroluminescent wire -- one blue, one pink -- nestled in a small frame and diffused with textured acrylic.
"Electric Window (ii)" was created in December 2008, again with two lengths of electroluminescent wire behind textured acrylic; this version was animated by a microprocessor.
Building on the yearly tradition, December 2009 saw the emergence of "Electric Window (iii)," an animated piece based around a pixelated LED screen, later formalized into the Electric Window 3 edition of fixtures.
Powered by a standard AC/DC adapter, similar fixtures suitable for home, bars, clubs, lounges, lobbies, etc., are available by commission.
